It is especially well suited for Automotive Wheels which sometimes have irregular, curved, or angled interior geometry, but it also does a great job on on. Motorcycles (Street & Dirt). It does not require floor mounting and can be operated with hand tools, it is small and light enough to take on the trail for emergency tire changes. The BeadBuster applies a reaction force directly against the lip of the rim and wont bend lightweight aluminum rims from high compressive forces. It has a padded clamp and will NOT SCRATCH your rims. The BeadBuster XB-452 has all of the benefits of the original XB-450, with the addition of a removable clamp arm, and an additional included Long Clamp Arm that allows it to be used with irregularly shaped cast aluminum rims. If an automotive rim has very contoured or angled surfaces where the clamp arm would make contact, it can prevent the XB-450 from properly mounting on the rim. The long clamp arm reaches further down on the rim to where it is flatter, and allows the clamp arm to make proper contact. If you know that you will only be changing basic shaped steel or spun style wheels, you can use the less expensive XB-450. But if you expect to be using the tool on a variety of aluminum alloy passenger vehicle rims, you will need this Long Clamp Arm XB-452. The BeadBuster is ruggedly designed, built entirely from steel with solid welds, uses Grade-5 zinc-plated screws, and is proudly MADE IN USA! DON’T BE FOOLED. The BeadBuster is a tried and true design that does the job right. NOTE: The BeadBuster was designed for use on the most common Diameters of ATV/UTV Rims: 9 and larger. Use on smaller rims (7″ & 8″) may cause damage to the ram foot, however, the tool can be effectively used on these smaller rims with a small adaptation and/or careful operation. The adaptation is using a small spacer between the body of the tool and the lip of the rim, which prevents the feet from full inserting, which are normally too long for the smaller ATV rims.
